My summer internship at TVG
Aug 20th, 2007 by Shelley Lester
The three months I have spent at The Vandiver Group (TVG) as an intern has taught me that following my instincts and doing research when finding a job or a business partner is essential. When I first started looking at internships last fall, I searched for St. Louis public relations firms online, and then began going to each firm’s website. I knew from the beginning that TVG was the place for me.
The team bios on the website helped me learn about their professional talents, and the importance that TVG places on involvement in outside organizations and on family lives.
TVG has received a variety of awards for client projects. Just as importantly, in my opinion, TVG has received awards from DiversityBusiness.com, St. Louis Magazine and the St. Louis Business Journal as a “Best Place to Work in St. Louis.” If employees enjoy their work, they perform.
Lastly, the clients that TVG works with are diverse. I knew there would always be something new and creative going on in a variety of sectors.
Well, my research paid off. My internship provided me with a great deal of knowledge, hands-on experience and some great memories. My co-workers are diverse and philanthropic, the work atmosphere was wonderful and the various client projects I worked on this summer kept me engaged and excited about my work.
Whether you’re looking for an employer or interested in hiring a public relations firm, all it takes is a little research and you will find that TVG is the place for you too!
