Award Nomination Reminders
Oct 2nd, 2008 by Eileen Buleza
In honor of the recent Emmy Awards, we decided to take a few minutes and post some tips for nominating awards for your favorite campaigns or clients.
- Nominate your best work. Award nominations take time and money. Don’t just nominate every project you’ve worked on this year- concentrate your efforts on your best and brightest projects, employees or clients.
- Be precise and to the point with your responses. As my college history professor would say—cut the fluff! (And be mindful of word count limits!)
- Give real examples and quantitative results. Whenever possible provide concrete examples of success, especially quantitative results- sales, customers, visitors, etc.
- Nominate in the correct category. Most awards have multiple categories- make sure you are in the appropriate category for your project. You may have the most amazing entry, but it won’t matter if you don’t fit the category guidelines.
- Be unique and stand out! Remember how many entries a committee member reads each day. Above all you have to show personality and stand out in content and presentation.
